Artist Statement
I have a passion for contemporary collage style art and create using a variety of hand-painted papers, recycled book pages, magazines, gold leaf, ink, acrylic paint, and even candy wrappers. Each piece begins with an idea or a photograph and evolves, one piece of paper at a time. I tear, cut, shred, and lay down layers, manipulating papers to create renewed and playful possibilities. Some pieces are raw and edgy, while others are soft and subtle. I love that in most of my work, it's a surprise as to how it will turn out!
